Hi! My name is Maquel and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I earned my Master's from the University of Northern Iowa in 2015 (Go Panthers!). I am originally from Washington and am thrilled to be able to serve my hometown and community through my work. I am passionate about working with children, teens and young adults. I have training in Play Therapy, a specialized form of therapy for younger children, which uses play as the main form of communication and expression of feelings. I have experience working with clients coping with a variety of challenges related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, childhood trauma and more. I believe strongly in helping my clients recognize their own inner strengths and finding healthy ways to encourage these.
